A Pinto, perhaps? Some New Kids on the Block CDs? A beautifully restored Third Reich swizzle stick?

1. I owned an AMC Gremlin onetime. So this post certainly applies...

I liked Gremlins. :(

The Levi™ Gremlin, anyway. With a... what was their small-block, a 323?

6. Yeah, I thought the looks were cute, too....
...only problem was, if it rained, it didn't start, and only started about 40% of the other times. Biggest piece of crap I've ever owned.

7. Weird
Must've been after... who bought AMC?

Through most of the '60s, AMC/Nash/Rambler had a real good rep for reliability. They were marketed as basic, reliable transportation, and they delivered. My dad loved 'em; he owned four, all told.

9. Yep, my grandfather had a rambler, and it was a war wagon....
...it was the 70's when the quality control on AMC's went straight to hell. Of course, they weren't alone in that category in the 70's for U.S. auto makers.

10. One of my dad's was
a '59 American station wagon that he called the Crap Wagon. He had a decent-sized garden behind the house, and we used the car to drive to the stables behind the Rodeo Grounds and haul as many five-gallon paint buckets as it would hold, filled with horse manure mixed with hay for fertilizer. :7

One time it blew a head gasket and I changed it in like six hours. That flathead six was a freakin' dream to work on, and it'd run forever. Only 90 horsepower, but it just wouldn't break.

12. Chrysler bought AMC
I don't know when, though, but they got the Jeep brand as well in the deal, IIRC.

15. Yep, I had bought some AMC stock because my dad told me it....
...was such a good deal. Of course, the quality of their cars sucked in the 70's, so my stock never gained much. Then, Chrysler bought them out - basically for the Jeep label - and my stock went further done, because Chrysler stock sucked in the 70's. Long-story-short, I don't have many positive memories of AMC.

17. I do. And I can still work them.
I handed them down to my son when he turned 13, and he can clack them for over a minute. Sometimes it sounds like the report from a fully-auto assault rifle coming from his room.

36. I could not find those even on ebay!
I found the balls, but not attached to strings, and I wasn't sure they had holes in them so strings could be attached.

I figured the safety police had rounded up and demolished all clackers long ago, or they are stockpiled in a secret underground vault.

You are a very lucky woman!

19. Yes, the Elmo Giggle Drill

Oh, wait, I have two...

For my two-year-old to play with. I bought him one a few months ago as a stand-alone item, and then for Christmas my parents bought him an Elmo tool belt. With, of course... another one.

So, now my kid runs around like a gunslinger, drilling the cats, me, himself, and the damn drills are laughing and giggling the entire time. Often in synch, or in a form of an echo.

They don't have an off switch, either. Fortunately they only talk briefly when the trigger is pulled?

21. Once. It was called a Ford Escort.
Damn thing nearly killed me while driving it. WHAT car almost spontaneously destructs WHILE driving it? This thing did. Had it towed and never set foot in it again. Sold it the next week. No wonder they don't make them anymore. My Cavalier, the car critics shat on, has TWICE the shelf life that piece of shit could ever have HOPED for.
