How do I add links to other websites in my signature line ?

I should know how to do this but nope - help please :)

1. Is the signature area any different from other areas?

Link to URL:
open square bracket
followed by the literal word "link"
followed by colon
followed by URL (Note: do not use http!!!)
followed by one copy of the vertical bar symbol ||||||||
followed by the label you want to appear
followed by closed square bracket

Example: (with punctuation and square brackets removed):
link www archives gov national archives experience charters constitution html Constitution

Same example (with real code; e.g. square brackets not omitted):
Constitution
