Who is planting a garden already?
Its a little discouraging because its around 33 degrees here in Wisconsin this weekend, but I am starting to get antsy. Anyone else been out there planting already?

1. I planted most of my seeds already
in one of those seed-tray things. Once we're past the danger of frost I'll move them out onto the porch, and I'll plant them in the garden once they're big enough not to get eaten by the birds. I'm growing lettuce, spinach, string beans, and lima beans. What are you growing there?

2. I love those seed tray things.
This year I'm going to do an herb garden in a planter I have that's made out of an old water softener. In the ground, nasturtium and some climbers like sweet peas... I have a lot of leftover seeds, still deciding.

6. I'll be planting some seeds under lights in a couple of days, but it's too cold to
do any planting outside here in Minnesota...I haven't even cleaned up the leaves and mulch yet; too much danger of frost still.

But I am getting antsy too! So much of my stuff is coming up and I just want to get out there and clean it up and play with it and transplant stuff and move stuff and divide stuff and have fun!

7. I prepared my garden and raised beds and planted some
lettuce (a mix) and some sugar snap peas. Then it got real cold :( I hope those seeds make it.

I've got so much more to plant, but have to wait for warmer weather, consistantly warm weather that is.

unlike last week when it was 79 one day. :eyes: I did do a lot of cleaning up while it was warm.

I don't like digging in the cold. All my spring bulbs are already falling over in the freezing temps. So I'll be waiting.

9. We have planted herbs (dill, mint, chives, basil, parsley).
Mr. LIW is out doing some more planting today.

Of course, the weather here has been quite different from the weather where you are. It's supposed to be chilly this coming week though (50s and 60s).

10. I planted peas, potatos, and onion sets two weeks ago...
I planted foxglove, daisies, and lupine last week. Raked out most of the beds and have weeded... Today I put netting over my cherry bush, and on selected branches of my apple and peach tree. Then tried scare tape on the remaining fruit trees.... I don't mind SHARING with the wildlife - but in the last two years the greedy little buggers took everything but the blueberries! This year I am trying to get some fruit for me too! LOL!
