Your first FIRST vehicle?
Before your first car, maybe you had a tricycle, maybe a bicycle, or some other set of wheels which burned the driveways and byways of your childhood home. I had a version of a pedal-car fire engine similar to this one in the picture, circa 1970-1972:

Yours? Post pics if you got 'em. :-)

1. I don't have any pictures, but I had a lovely yellow Schwinn two-wheeler.
I think I got it the summer before first grade.

7. The plastic streamers? Yes! The plastic handlebar grips were bright yellow, and
the streamers were yellow and white. My dad bought a basket for the front of my bike - the basket was white with plastic lilies of the valley woven in.

14. Yes, that's it
Streamers. This cold has numbed my brain cells. :D

I had a bell on my first bicycle, a red Huffy. No streamers, but a solid bike. :-)

4. Never had one
By the time they hit it big where I lived, I was riding a bike...

Have you recovered from GOPisEvil's visit? :D

8. at 77, my father still remembers the flat spot I wore on one part
of the front wheel of that thing, from where I'd get going and "hit the brakes", skidding down the driveway.

One does not fully recover from a visit with GOPisEvil. The peaceful demeanor is deceptive.

complete with pictures of Ponch and John. It was black and orange. It kicked much ass.

12. I had one of those too.
Child of privilege, etc. :) I liked the levers on the Green Machine, but it never replaced the BW.

6. It's all wrapped up in my very first memory
It was a tricycle and I wish I still had the photo of me with it - I was about 2 in a baggy diaper, holding my pail and shovel in one hand and looking at my tricycle as if I were trying to figure out how to juggle all my belongings. This was about 1963.

A year later, I left the tricycle in the driveway (something my mother had always warned me NOT to do) and the farmer next door who shared that driveway backed over it with the hay truck.

Hence my earliest memory - dusk on the porch, my mother standing behind me and my brother coming up the steps carrying its mangled seat.

9. I remember my dad running over my first lawn chair.
I had to have been three or younger, because my little sister wasn't around yet. Dad had gotten little lawn chairs for us kids to take along camping. I left mine where I shouldn't have, and Dad backed over it with the camper.

21. I wish I could find a pic of my first bicycle
It was a Sears (maybe Free Spirit?) powder blue, with a white banana seat. I think there were clouds on the frame near the chain. I LOVED that bike and rode it until I was in 5th grade. Then I got a canary yellow Free Spirit 10 speed.
