And yet, :wtf:

The vision is improving, though I can tell I've been staring at a computer screen all day and it's about time for my eye drops. Things are a bit blurry at the moment!

But overall, as of Saturday morning I was 20/20 in my right eye and 20/25 in my left. There's a general "softness," which is attributed to the inflammation of my cornea, and will get better within a week or so. The doc also expects both eyes to correct further, potentially to 20/10. :)

I don't know if they still do this, but when I was a kid, Maryland schools took a semester - usually around middle school - and concentrated their history clases on the state. It was fairly all-encompassing, everything from triva like the state sport (jousting) to geography, social studies and history.

What a crappy motto. Labor is not valued in Oklahoma. Any employer can dismiss any employee for any reason (or no reason) at any time. Cheating, manipulating, and taking advantage of others in order to prosper is the land run heritage of the state. I will never understand why folks here are so proud of that heritage. But then I don't need to understand it. I'm looking forward to starting my own little small business in another state where tax laws are more advantageous, the economy really is growing, population is increasing, and there is a steady tourist trade. No place in Oklahoma can offer a better business environment. So I've started a list of things I will most definitely not miss in Oklahoma. Top of the list? Republicans and fundies and other word of faith pentecostal charismatic type christians - especially christian business folks.

57. North Carolina
"To be, rather than to seem."

I love my state. When I was little we went on a trip to Oklahoma to see my mother's family, and when I saw the "Welcome to North Carolina" sign on the way home I started crying. The mountains, the foothills, the ocean, the trees, the grass, the sky - it's all a part of me.
