Poll question: Do you leave the radio/TV on for your furry ones when you go out?
And on what channel/station? Or is there something else that you do that keeps them occupied?

1. Usually on one of the news channels,
since they do a lot of talking, which makes her feel someone is there.

5. Not for the furries
but if we are going to be gone a long time I leave the Cartoon Network on for the feathered ones. They love cartoons and keeps them from teasing the dogs and cats.

6. TV, usually the SciFi channel
Caesar loves James Bond movies. If we tell him we're watching one, he'll find a good spot near us and watch with us. It's weird.

His favorite is GoldenEye. I think he has a crush on Fammke Jansen. :D

11.  I leave on Animal Planet
Sometimes Cartoon Network, but I've caught my cats sitting in front of the TV watching Animal Planet. The dogs like to bark at the sounds too. My dogs got their degrees in politics long ago.

36. Animal Planet for us, too
But any shows with sirens will set them off.

Although I've been know to leave it on C-SPAN. The incessant drone of politicians can be very calming. :D

15. I leave the radio on in the kitchen because I have it on a lot when I'm at home
and I think my dog Sally would feel that her environment is more normal than if the house was quiet. If she prefers it more quiet she can go to my bedroom, where her bed is.
On the 4th of July the fireworks display is at the park a couple of blocks away, and our dogs haven't enjoyed those loud sounds, so we leave two radios on to mask the sound.

31. I played DII and WOW for years and realized they are cartoons
Guild Wars is simply a game for thinkers, No Max-level or rune weapons.

Warhammer better be great it has too much Competition.

Be well

21. My parrot likes Sesame Street and Teletubbies
I would not dare leave the TV on a channel that had soap operas, as it would be disturbing to hear heavy breathing and groaning coming from my bird.

Not to mention it might be difficult to explain to company if she did decided to do a repeat performance.

38. That reminds me of the movie "Where The Buffalo Roam," with
Bill Murray. When Hunter Thompson said the word "Nixon," his Doberman would go right after the crotch of a lifesized doll wearing a Richard Nixon mask.

The cats have their own DVD's with rats, mice, birds, and fish. I just drag their beds in front of the tv before I go and set their movie on loop.

26. He enjoys sitting at the top of the stairs waiting for us
We know this because we have seen him through the window on the occaisions that we have driven past our house when going multiple places. When my husband, who he likes better than me, goes out he often does this too even if I am watching television or listening to music. He'll usually end up falling asleep if he is waiting long enough.

29. At home: sometimes. In a hotel/motel: ALWAYS.
With the TV on in a motel room, my dogs don't bark at anything. Without the TV noise they bark at any little sound. TV is a no-brainer doggy-sitter for travelling with your pet.

44. They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa
Edited on Tue Apr-24-07 10:01 AM by DainBramaged
They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa.
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa. To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!

To the happy home, with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they're coming to take me away, ha-haa!!! To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time...
