Poll question: Should you be able to say "(expletive deleted)" on the air?
Edited on Wed Jan-14-04 07:57 PM by Robb
This is the story from LBN:

Powell wants $275,000 per F-ck

OK, so that's not the exact headline....that's the "If Robb Owned the News" headline. ;)

What do you think? Has blue language ruined your primetime? Should it be allowed on the public airwaves?

1. Yes. It just a word, after all.
It's not hate speech, like one would hear on "The 700 Club".

2. Yes...
I wanna hear Katie Couric swear like a sailor with Tourette's.

I wanna hear the Cosby kids say "fuck you, mom".

I wanna hear Tinkywink tell Po to suck his ass.

I wanna hear the Taco Bell dog say "Yo quiero un blowjob"

I like swearing. Swearing is fun.

4. I think it might be closer to
"Yo quiero un soplar pene." ;-)

3. Should it be allowed? Yes...
But it would sure be nice if people who had freedom of speech started using it responsibly.

I don't want laws that forbid people to use expletives; but neither do I want my kid's ears bombasted with f---yous and such before he learns Mama and Dada.

When I hear somebody's boom-box blaring obscenity for all the world to "appreciate" I don't find it surprising that there are those who favor censorship. It's an abuse and mockery of freedom.

5. Agreed.
As a parent, I want to know about and be able to somewhat control what my son watches. Not that I would outright ban anything from him, but I want to be able to talk about it with him on my terms. It's the same reason that I've always been in favor of labeling CDs and games.
