I don't want to go to work tomorrow
I already have a knot in my stomach. I don't know how I will sleep tonight. My coworkers are assholes- well, one is an asshole, the other is a tattletale (which I guess is a species of asshole). It's gotten to the point where I dread every single day- I have bad stomachaches, usually in the morning before I get there. I don't know how much more I can take. I know I worry too much about everything, but especially about work.

1. I'm sorry that you feel this way, alarimer. I hope that you're trying to find another...
job if you don't see the situation as being able to change.

When I find that I start to worry about my work when I'm not there, I try to focus only on "the now". No past and no future. That helps me.

3. That's good advice
I find that I can't turn my mind off. Even if I try to read a book or watch a movie, I am still thinking about it.

6. I've found that "living in the now" gets easer with practice.
Practice by doing things like eating breakfast in the morning and concentrating completely on that one particular bite. Experience it fully and, if any other thoughts come into your head, just return your attention to that bite that you're chewing - how does it feel in your mouth, how does it look, etc.

I understand the stress that you're under; I've been there myself in the past. It makes me so value my current work environment. I have to say that the appreciation that I currently feel is something good thing that came out of that particular bad situation. Otherwise, I'm sure that I'd take my friendly coworkers for granted.

Please do what you can to remove yourself from the situation as soon as possible.

7. I definitely need a change
Jobs in my field are scarce and there is a lot of competition. Some of the stress is no doubt related to the fact that I am in my sixth year of a graduate program and I just need to finish. Once I do, I will be free to seek jobs anywhere. Until then, I pretty much search within the state.

2. keep your head down, concentrate on your work

don't have any social interaction with anyone unless it is
directly related to your work, and nothing bad can happen
to you.

4. At my job that's not really possible
I wish it were!

But we have to work closely together. We are supposed to be "team players", yet I am the one who has to concede every argument.

I haven't yet figured out how to let other people's behavior just roll off my back.

10. Ya need to find a way out!
I will hope for you to be able to do that soon. I know you've written about this situation a lot and it seems really hopeless to you but I know that nothing is that hopeless, it just gets to feeling that way when you're in the middle of it.

Have you ever tried meditation? I'm a worrier and it helps me sometimes to practice some form of it.

please take care of yourself!

you are too bright to be giving up when the future somewhere is so bright you gotta wear shades!

11. I remember that video
I also remember being that optimistic once upon a time.

I don't mean to keep harping on the same old thing week after week after...

I need either meditation or Xanax!

13. Hey!
you harp all you want to! I just hope that something changes for you 'cause you do sound very frustrated and I wish I could make it better.

I dunno if you need medication?

I do know that you work with asses, and your over qualified for your job, and there's a lot of things that bother you.

I can also tell that you are bright, you get frustrated about a lot of things that would frustrate me too (like the soccer team etc)

and I know that i'm not as optimistic as that video, and never was, but you ain't junk Alarimer!

I have no doubts that you will find a path that works better for you!
