1. I was gonna ask that.
The thought did cross my mind to run into one - but I had many other urgent things on my plate already.

like the song "It's a Small World" at Disneyland. Just kill me now! I refuse forever to go on that ride again.

4. my co-workers said the winter music = suicide
I can believe it. At least it's McCartney and not, say, Christian rock/gospel :puke:

6. I'll be bopping in there soon, I'm sure.
I've picked up some great CD's there - but if I had to listen to them 24/7 I'm sure I'd change my mind quickly.

7. I love the first track.
"Dance Tonight."

He's the master song-writer he's always been, some silly, some profound, others iffy.

Even John Lennon had his off days.
"Revolution #9," anyone? :-)

8. I think I know why Paul's later stuff doesn't have staying power.
I've bought some of his CDs of the last decade or more, and I play them twice and then they go back to the shelf, never to be listened to again.

I think it's because he goes into some weird chord changes that don't make sense.

15. Paul was immensely talented
Edited on Wed Jun-06-07 12:47 PM by mvd
There wouldn't have been The Beatles without both Paul and John. And I love much of Paul's Wings work. But unfortunately, his vocals have greatly diminished, and it has affected his recent albums. His writing can still be top-notch, but it seems with any producer he tries, he struggles to either recapture his glory or sound contemporary. "Dance Tonight" is one song that does work. But "House Of Wax" goes nowhere.

16. I think he should do an album of duets with contemporary artists
Something along the lines of what Ray Charles and other old timers have done in the latter parts of their careers.

Maybe re-working some classic Beatles or Wings tunes as seen through the eyes of others.

Could yield some interesting stuff.

He doesn't have anything left to prove, so this would be perfect.

19. Don't shoot me, but I think the picture on the album is dorky.
what the hell is he doing with his lips? And the lapel thing? It drives me crazy, I just want to throw it on the floor and stomp on it. Until I have my 5 shot Americano, and then I calm down a bit.

21. I think this was a special arrangement
There was some kind of a deal with Starbucks and McCartney that there would be a launch day where they would all play his CD.
