I'm finally reading "The Kite Runner"
I don't know why, but I always resist reading popular new books for a few years, then finally break down. I guess I don't believe they're really good until 20 people tell me so.

Anyway, it's quite good so far. Is anybody reading his new novel?

It deals with women issues. Kite Runner is now a movie to be released later this year. The author was on C-SPAN2 Book tv last weekend and he said this.

7. I listened to Kite Runner when it was fairly new
the audiobook was read by the author, which in this case added to the story immensely to hear it in his voice. It really intensified the imagery. :hi:

Great book, a little change in tone at the end, but a true look inside life in Afghanistan over the last 30 years or so. The first person narrator is mercilessly honest about himself, and the personal relationships are astonishing and at times heartbreaking.

Let's compare notes when you're done!
