1. As the proud uncle of a Chinese adoptee
I am offended.

Meanwhile, I remember reading (about a year ago) about a how a study of Italian restaurants found that many people who ordered veal parmigiana were receiving pork parmagiana.

16. Are you as offended with all the redneck jokes
that have floated around here? Just curious. Obviously some people don't have a sense of humor. What a shame.

2. No, make sure your speakers are off... unless you really hate
cats or people of Chinese descent.

Tacky, dude. Tacky.

18. I find THIS tacky
**Celebrate MLK's birthday in style... go piss on J.E. Hoover's Grave!
Lat: 38.8811 N, Long 076.9792W**

Telling someone to piss on someone's GRAVE is far more tackier than that song I posted. Get real.

3. Cat is very popular in Haiti.
Edited on Sun Jan-18-04 08:39 PM by greatauntoftriplets
When I was there, I was told it would increase my sex drive.

On edit: I never ate cat in Haiti, just was told, etc.

4. True, lots of places eat cat. I have had it, but to accuse
people living here of eating it?
Weird.

Monkey is good too, as is dog, but we don't eat those here.

5. And in the hotel where I stayed in Shanghai....
there was a fur coat in the gift shop. I asked someone what kind of fur it was. She replied "dog". I gagged.

No, we don't eat those things here. Dogs and cats are our friends.

And my diet has been a lot more restricted than yours! Ugh. It'd be like eating a human for me. :puke:

10. I think I'd go vegetarian in those circumstances.
After eating goose eggs for breakfast once in China, it was years before I could eat a chicken egg again. But I am kinda picky with food.

6. I used to work with this guy
he was my photographer, as a matter of fact (i was the editor of this rag tag army post newspaper).

Anyway, he had these pictures in his office of puppies chopped up in a frying pan that he shot in Korea.

:scared:

7. I used to work with a man from Taiwan
I was talking to another coworker about the dogs we had as pets when we were children. He told me about Fluffy, and I told him about Duke. Then our Taiwanese freind came around, so we asked him if he had any dogs when he was a child. "Sure", he said. "What was their names?", we asked. "Names? ...Lunch! Dinner! Do you name your cows?" was his response.

11. Yeah, I know. When I read about places in China where they
raise dogs and cats like we do cows and chikens... well, I guess it is all a matter of perspective.

12. On the other hand, there are places like India
where many Hindus think our habit of eating beef is even worse.

It's all meat.

20. My cousins named their cows
When I was little, one of my uncles owned a farm. (Spokane-area DUers: it was off McDonald Road.) They raised their own beef, and the kids named the cows.

About twice a year we'd eat over there, and you'd sit down, and one of the kids would pipe up "We're eating Sparky today!" Which is why we only ate over there twice a year.
