radio free austin......pirate radio in austin, tx
hey fellow austinites,

i caught this pirate radio station over the weekend in town. check them out if you get a chance:
http://www.radiofreeaustin.org/

they air a lot of alex jones and interesting progressive and libertarian broadcasts.

they have three transmitters in the austin area....see if you can tune them in.

1. Poor bastards.
When the feds catch them they will not be gentle.

It does not pay to run a Pirate station.

Otherwise I'd be doing it already.

2. they've been doing it for quite a while i believe
they're very respectful of licensed stations and if they are interfering at all with any broadcast they'll move their transmitters and changetheir frequency.

4. Low-powered "neighborhood" FM stations are now legal
All they have to do is apply for a freqency and a permit and they can go legit, if they don't interfere with any other transmitters.

96.3 FM North Austin

90.1 FM South Austin

91.1 FM Bastrop

90.1 FM Round Rock

Way too "outre" for pirate. Nothing that I can find in Monitoring Times either, that would point to pirate radio at these frequencies.

I think you may be mixing up "pirate radio" with legit "radio free wherever."
