My thrill of a lifetime moment this evening... I so have to share.
Edited on Fri Jun-22-07 01:58 AM by devilgrrl
Tonight I'm out celebrating my good friend's twelfth annual 39th birthday and go outside for a moment. A group of people were there already, a gentleman offered me a seat which I gratefully declined, as I was comfortable standing up. The guy looked really familiar but I couldn't place the face. As they got up to leave, the gentleman, in a joking manner, instructed one of their crowd not to refer to him as "John Carpenter." :wow: That's who it was!

I don't normally don't do this but I couldn't help myself and blurted, "'They Live' - Great movie!" He says, "Well, the star is right over there!" I say, "Roddy Piper?" He says "Yup." Roddy Piper turns around and says "hello", shakes my hand says all kinds of nice things. It all happened so fast - I was able to complement Mr. Carpenter on 'The Thing' before they split - missed out on 'Dark Star'. What can I say... They were both very friendly and it was totally unexpected and definitely, a pleasant surprise. What a trip.

Thanks for listening.

we should have a DU meet up there.... in Freeperville Bakersfield.

Say, if you and yours enjoy the outdoors, you're in a great place for it. You're close to Lake Isabella, Yosemite, Death Valley, the Coast, etc...

7. Very Cool!
"They Live" is one of my favorites, as is his remake of "The Thing." I wouldn't have been able to help myself, only I would have made an ass out myself, stammering and tripping over my feet.

If you have a brother who works for a 'fruity' company, I'm supposed to say :hi:
