Say I wanted to create PDF files...
...and let me state for the record that I loathe and despise PDF files, but I may be in a position of needing to write them soon. So, for someone who knows absolutely nothing on the topic, what's the best program? Anything out there that's free or low-cost and still good?

5. As an alternative
and I'm sure GoPsUx's suggestion will work fine, but I think OpenOffice.org Writer can save to PDF, and it can open Microsoft .doc files.

Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 05:26 PM by Kali
I just learned how to do it myself about a month ago (I had a post asking the same in the computer forum) - I am no techie, so I can verify that Open Office is a great FREE office program.
