On my 11th birthday I took my friends to see "Cat from Outer Space"
Which sucked.

What movie should I have taken them to instead?

We're talking goofy 5th grade boys in 1978.

1. My daughter loves "Cat from Outer Space" still watches it at 13.
Perhaps you should have chosen "Pete's Dragon"? Wasn't that out at the same time??

4. It was okay but it came out a year after Star Wars. We were expecting...
some really cool special effects and cosmic dogfights (er. catfights).

Something besides a cat with a shiny collar and a flying avocado.

5. Well. . . it was a Disney movie, you couldn't exactly expect. . .
anything except pandering to children.

3. Either Muppet Movie
or The Decline of Western Civilization.

Cat from Outer Space was the 1st movie I got to see in a theatre without parental supervision.
