My employer lost my paycheck!

I turned in a change form for my direct deposit... and they must have made a mistake entering the new numbers... cause my check is God knows where!

Me, I thought I had left my debit card at a bar the other night, so I went to cash a check at my bank. The teller saw my name on the check and said, "you left your debit card in our ATM machine last Saturday. Let me go get it for you."

I leave my card at the bar just about every time I go to one. (Which makes twice in the last 14 years or so :P)

5. My employer used to "forget" to pay me at least once a year.

Since it was a seasonal job, I always had money stocked up for the winter time lay-off, so I could get by for a week and not be in deep doo-doo. However, as a matter of principle I would not let them get away that BS.

Make them hand cut you a check and FedEx it.

To be totally honest, I loved to be able to walk into my boss's office and tear him a new asshole and know that he had to just sit there and take it! :evilgrin:

But the home office is in India, and so I can't really get that face-to-face bitch session feeling of gratification... so I've just sent a scathing (read: desperate and pleading) e-mail, instead!

11. Our home office is in Paris, and regional payroll was in Milwaukee

but I enjoyed watching our office operations manager squirm because he KNEW he HAD to deal with this. If I insisted that they pay me what they owed me, he HAD to do it.

So then he got to make phone calls and get corparate officers off of golf courses and write me a check.

I remember one such discussion started with "What kind of fucking company do I work for?!?"

Here'a good line to use (I'll let you use it free of charge if ou want) "Here's the deal: I do things I don't want to do, and you pay me for it. If you aren't paying me, what am I left with? Then I'm just doing things I don't want to do--how long do you think that'll continue?"
