The best free tickets EVER!

A friend of mine got 4 free tickets to a ML baseball game a couple of months ago through the local YMCA and at the last minute decided not to use them. They're a family of 5, couldn't get an extra ticket, didn't want to leave one person at home, plus one of their kids is already back in school, and it was a night game during the week, and they figured they'd be back too late, plus are kinda ehh about baseball anyway, so they gave us the tickets.

So with free tickets in hand, my family got to see Barry Bonds hit a home run and beat Hank Aaron's record. Yeah, our seats were in the nosebleed section...seagulls were flying lower than we were...and yeah, steroids, I know, but WOW, what an experience! Willie Mays was there, Hank Aaron spoke, maybe prerecorded, I don't know, there were fireworks, black and orange streamers let loose all over the park. My kids were jumping up and down, screaming.

I hear the Y is kicking themselves for having given the tickets away and not using them as a fundraiser.

on the third base side. Not great seats, but what a game!

you still got to see history. your kids will never forget it.

I got to see Hank Aaron hit a homer at my first MLB game. It was after he broke the record, but still unforgettable.

9. No, it was cold!

We had jackets on and it still felt nippy! I think the daytime high was suppoed to be in the mid 60's but after sundown, it was probably in the 50's.

Regardless of how one feels about Bonds, I bet it was a great expereince just to be there. I can imagine the energy of the crowd. AND it's something your kids will always treasure.
