This weekend is gonna be goooooooooooood! Woo-hoo!
Friday, my husband and I are driving to Milwaukee to see Crowded House play at the Pabst Theater. Saturday, I am meeting 15 other CH fans that I know from a fan forum to see Crowded House play at the House of Blues in Chicago. Sunday they play a second show at the House of Blues.

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited I can barely stand it. Three Crowded House shows in three days! My favorite band in the whole world and I never thought I'd see them play live again. Of course, it's not without a bit of sadness. RIP Paul Hester.

What's everyone else doing this weekend?

:hi:

1. Taking the beagle to Bark in the Park
All of her friends from dog school will be there, and it benefits the committee trying to build dog parks in the county. Should be fun--not suppposed to be hot, either.

3. I love Bark in the Park. My husband and I go even though we don't have a dog.
We just like seeing all the dogs have a great time. We go to the dog beach fairly often too. Watching dogs play is watching unbridled joy in action.

and they'll all be there.

6. We're working.
We saw them at Foxwoods Aug. 3rd, but I think the Northampton, MA show would have been better (more actual fans, but the band was as incredible as always). So many great songs, we left wanting for even more to be played. Great time though (and yes, Pat's going to be very jealous of you). :hi:

9. Hi SarahBelle! Yeah, I read some of the reviews of the Foxwoods show.
It was in a casino, right? Everyone said Neil sounded terrific though. I was nervous because he lost his voice the morning of the Philly show (he played live on the radio and sounded terrible, poor thing). But it sounds like he's back to normal. Did you get to see Elroy play then? I know he had to back to school so we won't get to see him.

Tell Pat I will post links to my reviews. I'm realy excited about the Milwaukee show because the Pabst Theater is supposed to be great. The Chicago shows will be more like social outings, since I've heard the HOB sucks for concerts. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get to hear "Walking on the Spot" at least once.

Oooooh, I'm getting so excited!

10. Oh, man. If I didn't have the whole evening planned for me I totally would.
Well, if by some miracle Friday traffic isn't a total nightmare getting out of Chicago (ha!), I'll bring the address with me! :hi:

18. Hope you have a good driving playlist/cd ready!
That was the first playlist I made when I got my iPod. Something has to make Chicago traffic bearable! :)

19. It's got an auxilary jack for my iPod...
Edited on Thu Aug-16-07 01:57 PM by EOO
I'm getting this bad boy fully loaded... I'll have an auxiliary input for my MP3 player and I'll be able to blare the 9 speaker Bose sound system with lots of good music! :headbang:

It'll also have XM radio and a feature that will enable it to download traffic data and display the trouble spots on the navigation map. I'm a courier living in Los Angeles... having that feature will be absolutely invaluable.

15. I agree!
Neil Finn is my absolute favorite musician of all time. And seeing him three days in a row is like winning the lottery. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you jealous. I'm just so excited I had to share. :hi:

20. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!
Today is the day. It's a beautiful day for a drive to Milwaukee. My husband is already starting to get anxious about the drive, and the fact that there's construction, and the Irish Fest, and a Brewer's game tonight. I'm not going to let him ruin this for me, but I do hope he can let it go and enjoy the day. I really don't force him to do very much.

Trying to keep my chin up. Please send good vibes! Thanks!

21. I used to look forward to the weekends, but the last few have been spent alone,
either dog or cat-sitting, and I fear that this coming one won't be any different. *sigh*

Have a great time and let us know all about it...:hi:

22. Thanks Rhiannon12866! I'm sorry this weekend is going to be a bummer.
Any other weekend I'd probably prefer the company of cats and dogs to humans, but I am looking forward to this one. As long as it doesn't get ruined by a certain someone who was really bumming me out last night.

24. I spend a lot of time alone too
and this week, I have about 2 hours of chores to do, and then.... nothing......

and finances are tight this month so my options are limited. (No, I'm not totally broke, but there's not a lot of wiggle room.)

It may be cool enough for a jog.

I think I'm going to spend some time making up some lunches for the week so that I don't have to spend money at the cafeteria next week.

25. WOW! Last night's show was awesome! The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee is a great
place to see a show, if you ever get a chance. And the boys were just fantastic. Neil was soooooo happy to be playing as a band again. His son Liam was amazingly talented as well. He did some solo stuff as well as helping out on various instruments.

I'm off now to meet folks for the first Chicago show. It's rainy and yucky but that won't matter.
