9. The first sentence got me.
"Based on 30 years of assisting women who are homeless, we have learned that homelessness cannot be addressed by housing alone."

 for the House of Ruth!!

14. As a teen my mom had me performing community works very early i.e. tutoring...
English and other subjects to kids, some, under privileged; to bring their grades up, working in what are referred to as 'soup kitchens' prepping & serving food, reading to the elderly, and the blind...

When a applied to UCLA on a scholarship I never thought I'd be accepted. But was informed by admissions, that although my skills in theater and academia were both considered, and on point (4.0 *curtsy*); it was my having performed community work at such a young age that persuaded them to include me along with their smiles and so yes, do...

Cast your bread on the water :hi:

10. A Place for Hope
www.aplaceforhope.net
This is a non-profit organization aimed to assist and empower the residents of small community within my county. It is labeled as the State's most environmentally, economically and socially distressed community. They do not have running water or sewage. The median income is @$7,000. They assist the whole community and are working also to bring water and affordable housing to the community.

17. First Place
It's a school here in Seattle for children who are, along with their parents, homeless.

One of the cool things about it, among many, is that my favorite baseball team, The Seattle Mariners, are big backers of the school and the work it does.

Plus, I used to volunteer at a temporary home for displaced women and children. The women had to go out every day and search for a job, and while they did, the kids attended First Place.

20. Dreamcatchers:sends low income kids to college
if they promise to stay in school through 12th grade. We are a town of 3,000 so we could use any donations anyone would like to give. Our town is 1/2 hispanic 1/2 white.

Dreamcatchers randomly selects 5 low income third graders every year and let them know if they graduate from high school, they will have money for college. These 5 dreamers receive one-on-one mentoring every week until they graduate. Because we are an inclusive organization, we also provide monthly group mentoring events open to all West Liberty families. Group Mentoring events are focused on guest speakers and field trips to introduce varied experiences and future careers that require education.
