1. The problem is that klingon
did not have the verb "To be" so something had to be worked out for The Undiscovered Country when the Klingon there started reciting "To be or not to be..."

Or am I being too geeky?

4. That would be General Chang, I believe
Here's a bit of supplemental geekiness: IIRC, part of the reason that "to be" was omitted from the language is because the absense of that infinitive makes it difficult to speak in the passive voice, and what self-respecting Klingon would ever speak in passive voice?

2. I once saw "The Taming of Petruchio" performed in the original Klingon
It was part of a performance of Five Shakespearian Plays in Five Minutes, all in Klingon.

Ok, I'm a geek. So sue me!

5. It's the only way to truly enjoy Shakespeare
And it makes the swordfights a lot more fun.

8. I have a copy of Hamlet in Klingon, which I have read parts of.
Though I don't know Klingon, so it's only sounds to me.

But it helps my geek quotient to have a copy (first printing, too) of the book.

10. What give you more geek points
having that book - or, having the original Deities & Demigods book that has the illegal Cthulu mythos in it?

11. I have that one, too!
Probably more geek points for the original Deities and Demigods.

12. Hey! I had that one!
I never knew that the Cthulu Mythos was "illegal". What's that supposed to mean anyway? Not that it matters. I sold my copy to a rare book store for a hundred bucks about nine years ago.

13. They did not have legal permission to use Cthulu
or one other mythos - I think it was the Melnibonean one? TSR had to take it off the shelves, and they later re-issued it without Cthulu and the other.

I had the original as well, but sold my beat up copy on eBay for $50-60 when I needed money several years back.

14. I hated the illustrations for the Melnibonean Mythos anyway.
Yyrkoon looked like Derek Jeter, for God's sake, and Elric looked ridiculous in those floppy boots.

17. It's got some cool Erol Otus drawings in it.
How many geek points is the Erol Otus reference worth?
