Need help with a DU function

I'm trying to embed an image (jpg) in a DU post, but I have no idea how to do that. I can do a URL, of course, but that doesn't apply in this case.

1. that is exactly how you do it

put the URL to the photo in your post, thats it.

It works.



Jut paste the url to the image, and presto, photo!

2. In this case, there isn't a URL

It's an image on my hard drive. I tried putting in the path, but that didn't work.

3. you have to upload it to an image hosting site like photobucket

4. You need to have the image hosted online somewhere.

Photobucket.com is where I host my images.

Then you can post the URL.

that is still an easy thing to do.

Upload to photo bucket or imageshack

www.photbucket.com

or

www.imageshack.us

and it will give you a direct link to the photo, just paste that into your post and PRESTO, PHOTO!

I'll put it somewhere, probably on my own site, and then use the URL.

It would be convenient if there were some more direct way, but it occurred to me that that would mean the images would be stored on the DU servers, and that would probably get out of hand very quickly.
