Weird things your pet(s) do? Pic Included Dial Up Warning
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 12:27 PM by Liberalynn
Maxie my beloved six year old German Shepard absoultely hates it when I am on the phone. If the phone rings and I am on my way to answer it she suddenly throws herself in front of me and jumps and trys to nip me, this doesn't happen any other time.

While I am actually talking on the phone, she will grab things off the coffee table or wherever she can find something she thinks she's not supposed to have and starts ripping it to shreds. Again mostly only when I am on the phone. Doesn't normally happen any other time even when I am here on the net. I just don't get it.

1. LOL
One thing I realized with my dog. She had no concept of what a phone is.
When you are talking, your dog thinks you're talking to him/her.

3. I had never thought about it that way.
That's a good point.

6. Yeah, I started paying attention
to how I sounded on the phone. I would laugh, get
animated in my conversation, etc. All that would
get Sally all jacked up. That could explain why
your dog starts tearing things up.

2. If I ignore Kid too long, she puts herself on a time out in the bathroom
so I will come and get her and tell her what a good girl she is. And every time my cell rings, she thinks it's the dogwalker. Which is too bad, because she is fired.

And, she doesn't like dog food or pizza but loves ice cubes.

That's funny that she goes on time outs.

5. My little guy chews his nails.
It's pretty loud, too. Crunch, crunch.

What a weird dog. I have to file his nails so that they don't snag stuff.

7. What kind is he?
That's good that you file the nails so he doesn't get them caught.

Maxie bights hers at times too. The vet says she also thinks she bights her pads.

We usually have them clip her nails becuase they say its very difficult to cut Shepards nails because they are dark and if you cut too low by accident you can cause bleeding.

14. We think he's a Shiba Inu/Aussie Shepherd mix.
He's about 40 lbs. He's got dark nails, too, but he's really good about letting us clip & file them.

Silly, silly dog.

10. mine does the same thing
which is good 'cause she freaks when you touch her front paws, so clipping them is outa the question unless she is sedated at the vet.

15. It's so strange.
He chews them, front and back feet, and then they're all ragged. We're lucky he puts up with the pedicures that follow.

19. Maxie only does the front feet..
You are lucky about the pedicures too. Maxie doesn't bite us but she makes it clear she does not like us touching her paws very much.

8. How cute! One of my dogs carries the doggie bowls around the house.
Every morning there is a doggie bowl in his bed with him! He's not hungry. He has always done it. Weird.

another "my dog does the same thing"

13. The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger looks up women's skirts,
and if they have lotion on their legs, he licks them. Embarrassing when we have female guests.

His other thing is nice sable-hair paintbrushes. He actually lies in wait for me to put one down in my studio. x(

22. What an adorable kitty!
He's a frisky boy! ;)

My kitty Magee took a flying leap last night, landed on my head, while I was laying on the couch, then fell off to the other side of the couch. It was kind of funny, but it kind of hurt too.

16. My dog Vicki HATES it when I'm on the phone too.
 :hi: She will do EVERYTHING to make me pay attention to her and not talk on the phone, just like your Maxie. She even taps me on the shoulder with her paw. I feel your pain.

18. OOh I had a cat that thought the phone meant time for HER to speak
And I mean speak- The moment I say hello it was "meow, meow, meow, meow...". CONSTANTLY. Everybody who called me knew I had a cat because not only was it non-stop but it was LOUD!
This is her, Turtle:

20. The paw tap
is a nice attention. She must really get your attention then. We only get that from Maxie when she is sitting by us, and we aren't petting her. Then she gives us a nice smack.

17. We have to put up with Sister Mary Ruby the mini dachshund
She barks and generally goes nuts when my husband and I kiss or hug or have any other kind of illegal/immoral physical touching. I keep telling her that it is ok 'cuz we're married, but it doesn't make any difference to her.

We also have to lock her out of the bedroom at certain times, if ya know what I mean.

And the neighbors would be calling the cops because of all the noise!

(Ruby's noise, that is all!)
