Annoying local commercials
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 10:47 AM by pstokely
Car dealer ads seem to be the most annoying to me. Kansas City has many of them like Neal's Finance Plaza (used car dealer that rips off poor people).I refuse to buy even a Yugo from them until they stop annoying me.

2. Bob's Discount Furniture
New Englanders will know what I'm talking about. The nasally, whiney twit and his faux wife who insist in appearing in every damn spot, even the animated football one that airs during Patriots games.

3. Local car commercials.
For the love of god... those car commercials... I have never wanted to buy a product LESS than when I see those.

If I ever went insane and starting killing/maiming/blowing things up, it would probably start at one of those local car places. (No, that's not a threat... just a warning. )

Amazingly good advertising, when you think about it, since they haven't been around for twenty years or something like that.

The Diamond Center had some memorably horrible commercials too.

Oh crap, they have some of them on YouTube.

29. See, that was the joke, cuz it's like a lion but he calls it a dog, "Spot"
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 12:51 PM by CreekDog
from wikipedia regarding "Spot":

"He was usually joined by his "Dog Spot", except that "Spot" was never a dog. Often, Spot is a tiger or elephant or bear. Spot was officially retired in the mid 1980s."

30. No, it's always his "dog." Then they'd show him with an elephant or sea lion or something.
They're on YouTube if you want to take a look.

They were on all of the UHF channels every single commercial break for my whole childhood, and I lived within walking distance of the dealership. The people who run it now have less annoying commercials. Still annoying, because the guy talks really loud "This is PAUL BLANCO with PAUL BLANCO CHEVROLET on FLORIN ROAD" but not "go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal" annoying.

31. More "dog spot" useless trivia...
In an episode of Sanford and Son, Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx) is making a television commercial for his salvage yard and refers to his son Lamont (Demond Wilson) as "My dog spot".

7. Tom Shane of The Shane Company
He sells diamonds. Has the most annoying voice in the universe and always does the commercials which usually consist of some dumbass asking him for advice - "Tom, my anniversary is coming up and I know my wife is going to want a god-awful, ugly, tacky, oversized diamond."

"Well, Jim, you need to come to the Shane Company. We have more ugly diamonds than any other diamond outlet and for more extravagant prices!"

Sorry to be pedantic about the actual wording, but that stupid commercial planted itself where 50 points worth of SAT and GRE words should have been.

10. "He went to Jared"
nya nya nya

Appears right before Christmas, Valentine, Mother Day and in between. Several couples at a party, one woman shows a bauble and the others run to their husbands nagging: "He went to Jared."

If I were one of these husbands I would smack her right then and there, instead of looking so sheepish and, yes, impotent.

19. Ginsler-Lee Diamonds, the place to buy diamonds if you're really smart
Ginsler-Lee Diamonds the storrrrrreeeee, with the heart!

Back in the days of Dr. Don, KFRC 610, 1260 KYA and AM radio in the Bay Area.

This jingle was revived in the movie "Zodiac" where it was playing on the radio before the first murder, right near Hurdy Gurdy Girl on KYA.

That commercial was truly my first brain implant.

Most annoying commercials ever. Starring Paul, who's kinda got a Richard Simmons thing going on, minus the sparkly gym shorts.
