Why do people hate you?

Look, somebody hates you. Admit it. There's someone out there who just finds you annoying, evil, worthy of torment. What is it about you that ticks them off so?

For me, I'm a bit of a tyrant. I'm a benevolent tyrant in my classroom, but man alive I can be a bitch some days.
Guess that just hits some people the wrong way.

i think that some here believe that i am some kind of pariah when the reality is that i'm just another human with human failings and so on and so forth. I don't advocate meanness, or treating people badly. So some people are just wrong about things...

As for why people might Dislike me? People sometimes like to be angry, like to be judgemental, and like to believe they're right and other people are wrong. I know I'm as guilty of all of those as anyone else.

13. Probably a few reasons

One, I can sometimes be an insufferable know-it-all. I do it unconsciously most of the time, though.

Two, I am stubborn and won't give into any compromises.

Three, I don't like anyone trying to push their religion or politics on me, so I tend to alienate people who want to convert the world to their views in these areas. I won't do that to others, and I certainly don't do it to them. It invites a certain amount of animosity, though, to those who have a very narrow focus.

19. There's a lady at work who hates me for absolutely no reason.

She has had one conversation with me, and I was basically agreeing with her. When she came back from maternity leave after pooping out her 5th child by her third baby daddy, I had all the jobs she previously held. I didn't ask for them, I was asked to apply. I ended up getting them, and now I don't know if she's bitter or just a hateful person, but she liked to tell everyone how dumb I am.
The other morning we came in at the same time, and I stopped four feet from her after she hit the button for the elevator. When she saw that I had stopped to wait for it too, she turned in a huff and stomped upstairs. I was injured at the time and could not take the stairs. Even so, if you're a professional and an adult, you should be able to ride the elevator with someone you dislike. But apparently she's neither.
She's also one write up away from being sacked. She did not do my job well. It was so fucked up after five years of her with it that I had to organize the hell out of it when I first got it, and it took me a month to get it all settled. I also had to repair the relationships we had with our investors. Apparently she's not nice to work with either.

Although I will say my employees love me, my clients hate me. It's a love/hate thang.... Wierd but true. I keep telling (some of) my clients to just leave then dammit, but they don't damn them. Horses are a fucked up industry - the clients anthropomorphize them and make them into their pseudo-children, I as the professional must restore order. It's a nightmare - like some kind of bad parent dream. (Some of) my clients hate/love/fear me... sigh. I want them to go, they want to stay - they pay good money, I take it, we jolly along as best we can. Irritating as can be.

At home, I suspect I am hated cause I am the parent although right now both the 20 year old AND the 11 year old are getting along brilliantly with me.

Elsewhere I suspect I am hated cause my humor is quite sarcastic and I don't hesitate to speak the truth.

Jayzus, reading back over this, I just have to assert that I actually DO have friends. Long term friends who really like me (I think...:7 ) Shit did that come off wrong....

Women all my life have been telling me that I am very attractive. I look at this way: my PARENTS are (even in their 60's) very good-looking people. I have been given a genetic gift, so yeah; folks catch me in front of a mirror sometimes, fixing my hair. Every so often I get snotty attitudes from women, followed by the evil stare and silence every time I have to deal with that person (at the moment I am thinking of an LPN at work who needs to get over whatever her issues are).

I come from an academic family-dad's a retired Political-Sciences professor, mom's a retired Adult Education professor, my older sis is a Manhattan corporate attorney, and...Well, I'm becoming a nurse. Despite that, it seems as though use of proper grammar and sentence structure has rubbed-off on me, now living in an area of the state where folks have an absolutely atrocious sense of the English language. These folks read People magazine-I read Nietzsche.

I am not a snob, even though I am treated that way. I love people, despite my occasional remarks about the absurdity of the human race. Those are just observations. At work, there are 100 people-elderly and disabled-that depend on my compassion and understanding. They need someone who is willing to meet their needs, not some self-centered snob. My compassion is what drives me towards nursing.
