Hair/beard color assist.
I need help with coloring my beard. In a little less than a month I am going to be giving a presentation in my professional practices (college teaching) class in grad. school for which I plan to appear as/recreate/impersonate/play Abraham Lincoln. I do not want to shave my own beard and use a fake one. I want to temporarily color my own white beard for the presenation - something that I can wash out afterwards.

Any suggestions? This picture is a couple of months old. My beard is fuller now - I just can't find the damn camera!

1. there are products out there
to dye your beard - but they're probably permanent or semi-permanent. You'd need to read the labels to be sure.

There is a product called ROUX that you can get at some drugstores or any beauty supply store (think SALLY's) that is a temporary rinse.

That said -

1) it might not take because it's a beard; or
2) it might not be that "temporary" because it's a beard.

Your best bet would be to ask a hairdresser or barber.

2. one option...
What you need is something even more temporary than temporary dye. Something like spray-on or paint on colors are probably your best option.

But I'd definitely patch test them first to be sure they weren't irritating and that they wash out okay.

Good luck with your presentation!

Maybe that brand is the only one? I don't know, but that's the sort of product I mean.

5. Use Just For Men. It wears off in a couple of weeks. Use it a week prior to your
presentation and it will look more natural.

Good luck.

6. I wholeheartedly agree....
I wholeheartedly agree. It's only about six or seven bucks, the application is easy and simply colors the gray, not your natural color. Leave it in five minutes, shampoo and out and PRESTO! A ten year younger beard.

Not that I've used it or anything like that, of course....

8. But the thing is
I don't want a ten year younger beard ... I want a 142 year younger beard

10. kind of slow
but you could use mascara (I think is the right word) - stuff women use to make their eyelashes fuller and longer.

I used it once when I was growing a beard that hadn't fully come in yet, but I needed to be in some pictures, and wanted it to look good.

I'd suggest letting it sit, so as to dry for about 15-20 minutes after applying so it doesn'r rub off on a shirt collar.

11. Streaks N' Tips black
http://www.amazon.com/Streaks-Midnight-Black-Highlight-Spray/dp/B000E9A6NI

Washable hair color, long a standard in the motion picture industry. Used because of it's washability.

Find it, and other products like it at a local beauty supplier.
