As of next week, my roomie is going to lose her job due to the writer's strike.

She has a job interview tonight. She really, really, really needs this. Basically, she cannot afford to live here without a job, so she'd be forced to move back home with her parents for the duration of the strike.

the people that can afford it aren't the people getting hurt. South Cal is going to have a bummer christmas and shows will get delayed so obnoxious people can brag at starbucks. (sigh)

And so does Jess. The strike is a necessity. People are getting hurt, but the strike is going to ensure that the studios quit screwing everyone over. It's worth it in the long run.

Our firm (all entertainment law) is already starting to sweat a bit over the strike. Let's hope they resolve it soon.

In my case, it means no end-of-year bonus (which I really earned after two back-to-back trials this fall).
