Apparently that, along with Olive Garden, is the subject of much humor in this Lounge place here.

1. I'm too lazy to look for the thread
But one day someone mentioned using Corn Flakes to coat chicken and a war broke out. It got to be chicken anarchy in the Lounge and Skinner banned the word "chicken" for a while. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen in here in my opinion. Everything else pales in comparison.

2. I don't remember the specifics too well
But two or three years ago, there was this very passionate flamewar on here about the best way to cook chicken, and it reached its most intense status after someone suggested cornflake-crusted chicken, and several people reacted a little intensely.

5. Welcome to DU, Peter!

The cornflakes coated chicken war came before I did.

What was the big deal?

6. There needs to be some sort of FAQ you have to read and check that you've read
upon sign-up these days.

This place can be pretty cryptic.

7. We need a perm-link "Greatest Threads" page...
So that some of the legendary threads (even if locked) can be viewed by future generations.

My favorite was the one where either EarlG or Skinner managed to tombstone themselves.

10. I think it started as a discussion about Fried Chicken and the old
Kellogs Cornflake Chicken recipe was offered as an acceptable way to fry chicken ..and the Fried Chicken Purists went completely berserk and it degenerated into a flame thread cycle which rivaled Wagner's Ring Cycle both in its epic proportions and its longevity.

the definitive answer is this: kellog's cornflake chicken is just exactly that. Oven baked.

It ain't Fried Chicken (hey, I'm from Kentucky and I know my fried chicken), but it ain't bad tasting either..and is lower in fat.

now I am presuming some of this, but it appears to be the gist of things
