I got a real date tonight!
Fancy restaurant, wine, all that. And.... there's a nice fresh coat of SNOW on the ground to add to the romance factor. It's date number two. Date number one we spent about two hours in a record store and she didn't pick out even one shitty album. I'm kinda excited. Been a while since I did a real date.

1. We've some very good restaurants here.
Are you going downtown, the North Shore or Richmond? Oh yeah, there is one really good one in Burnaby. For future reference should these dates continue to work out... the Chocolate Buffet at The Sutton Place Hotel (I believe it's on Burrard) is to die for. Pricey but worth it if you are into chocolate.

I was at Umberto's Il Giordino (or something like that - I probably have the spelling wrong) last week. It was fabulous. A couple of friends were at the restaurant across the street (I don't know the name) and said it was fabulous as well.

Have a good time.

4. Congrats
I'm getting hooked up with some chick pretty soon. It will be my first date since my longtime girlfriend broke up with me, so hopefully, she's a little easy.

10. Oh, I'm damn excited.
I just don't like to get my hopes up. The pessimist is never disappointed.

11. Yeah, I went just got through all that....
Same situation as you, man. So, I went on a whoring spree. Nothing is better than getting a few bed notches to get yer mind off the shit. Now though, the cynical view has curbed and I'm actually excited again. I wish you the same, sir!

5. Good luck, bud!
:hi: have fun.

For the record, it's been a while since I've been on a "real date", too....and I'm married. :eyes:

I really need to talk to MrShine about this. ;)

8. Stay cool, pal.
Date number 2 is a key one. Wine, good food, relaxed conversation and encourage her to lead the conversation. Keep the wine flowing, and relax.

I'm watchin' football tonight with my housemate in an old sweatshirt while we eat messy ribs off the grill. After a decade together, that's cool with both her and me. We still do the expensive restaurants (even a concert last night), but we get to smear ribs on our face and watch football - maybe pass gas, too - without sweatin' it at this point.
