That book actually gave me ideas for putting certain foods together--> it was ALL so over-the-top. Especially (OK, not especially, but including) the restaurant scenes. I mean, the decadence displayed when he was not fantasizing about car batteries and, I mean,

Hard to read at times, and from someone who watched the 80's unfold before his young, impressionable eyes - all too real.

17. Never read American Psycho, but NCFOM is decidedly "meh"

at least as far as McCarthy's work goes. My reaction upon reading it was, "well this is his movie screenplay finally." And sure enough they made it into a movie.
