2. Only if you speak ill of her
as if it is endemic of her entire gender, not evilness that is unique to that particular female.

4. Depends
Speaking ill of who she is personally? Not at all. Speaking ill of her gender or sex? For sure.

The debate seems to be whether an insult with a gender connotation crosses the line from the former to the latter- I would say no, that it's only a quirk of language and that the closest masculine equivalent (asshole) is every bit as insulting and used on women even more rarely than men get called bitches.

6. I agree with you - if ya hate all women, it's misogny
Otherwise if you are just speaking of the occasional bad apple in a skirt,
it's human nature

5. to people with sticks up their asses, most of the time
being able to tell when someone's going after a person for being a not such a great person and going after a person because they are female is a skill a few people simply lack.

8. if you are speaking of her in a way
that is stereotyping or generalizing the gender, or speaking of her because of some ill will towards the female gender I would say yes, as for speaking ill of a woman period, how would that be different than speaking ill of a man?

Misogyny is more oriented toward the treatment of women in general, not a specific person.

does that make sense?

If I say so and so is mean spirited and does things I don't like, that's not misogyny. If I say so and so is a b word, and she's just like all the other b word's then that sounds misogynous to me.

your mileage may vary

:hi:

10. Misogyny is the hatred and objectification of women.
When men talk about women as inanimate objects, without feelings or depth, that is misogyny.
