My car was fucking stolen
My wife, heading out this morning, asked where my car was. It's frickin' gone!

Shit. It's a Saab 9-5 wagon, not cheap, and I just got it inspected and registered. Goddammit.

1. Oh, no! Tab, that is awful.
Hope they recover it quickly and that it isn't damaged in any way.

2. Thanks
Police were just here. I don't care about insurance or anything, I just want my car back.

I guess I should call my insurance company. (sigh)

4. I hope you don't get it back.
No...I'm not being mean. :)

In the past 4 years 3 people I know have had their cars stolen.
Police recovered the cars and when the owners got their vehicle back the problems varied from:
1. Screwed up engine...(had been hot-rodded to death) Insurance Company would not fix.
2. Alignment shot..along with bent steering parts.
3. been in a wreak...which insurance company fixed but car was "never the same"
4. Glass was all busted out...got fixed but Leaked like a sieve.
5. Doors screwed up...Insurance did NOT fix.
6. Exhaust system screwed up..again..Insurance did not fix
7. Radiator leaked..again..Insurance Fuckers did NOT fix.
8. and more stuff that I forgot.

Seems better to lose the car and just get another new one....of course paid by Insurance Company. :)

5. Got gap?

My condolences. Having lost Margret in 2002 and her later safe recovery on the mean streets of NYC after 2 and a half weeks none the worse for wear, I sympathize.

With ALL of the new Federal rules for key making and keeping copies, it's still easy for a thief to target your car by taking the serial number down to the Saab dealer, paying off the parts guy a few hundred bucks and a sob story, and getting a key made.

That's how it's done today. No more "touch the blue wire to the yellow wire".

6. That sucks, mine was stolen in 2004 and at first i wanted it back but the longer
it was gone the more i started hoping they didn't find it. They did find mine about 2 months after the fact and then it belonged to Farmer's insurance. What a pain, if they do find yours hopefully it will be today.

12. most are recovered with the first 48 hours
keep calling the police impound lots.

Most are stolen for joyrides. Others are stolen by professionals looking to strip cars for parts. The Saab wagon is not a high volume production car. I don't know if that makes the parts more hard to come by, and thereby creates a market for thieves.
