with the possibility of 1 to 3 inches of snow, maybe as much as 4 to 6 inches by the time the storm is over. Pfffft! I know that that is a serious amount of snow in some places, but c'mon people, this is OSWEGO COUNTY! We get more snow than Syracuse, which just happens to hold the record for large city with greatest snowfall! Around here, 6" is nothing. Once the storm passes over, the roads should be down to wet pavement in a few hours. I need to be warned when we're dealing with 1 to 3 FEET of the stuff. If whiteout conditions will make it impossible to see along 481, that's be good to know, too. As it is, a generic warning suitable for Nashville or St. Louis is worse than no warning at all for me. How will I be able to tell when there is a serious storm coming? The weather service needs to adjust its warnings for local conditions.
