8. Outrageous!
He hit .202 with Birmingham in 1994. That oughta make him a first-ballot shoo-in.

4. my dad says he doesn't work hard enough on defense.
And he says that lots of times, he doesn't even run down court. And that he doesn't really try... except during the playoffs.

9. Listen ...
tell your old man to play 48 minutes a game with Walton or Lanier on his back and then come talk to me about working hard.

14. He's still not in the Horse Jockey Hall Of Fame either
When he rode the ponies on the track, he had to kick his legs straight out to keep them from dragging. That's quite a disadvantage.

16. My sister dated him at UCLA.
My sister went to UC Berkeley for the 1965-66 year and then transferred to UCLA and graduated in June 1969. She told us that she was dating Lew Alcindor, the basketball player on the Bruins (obviously this was before he changed his name to Kareem Abdul Jabbar.) So we knew about it, but sadly we never got to meet him. She did marry another black man, who we met many times and he was a lot of fun. But their marriage lasted only 7 years. Then Kareem played professionally and of course made that appearance in "Airplane!" (1980). I don't know how long she dated him at UCLA, I've never really talked about it with her much.
