14. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is a sham

It's run basically by Jann Wenner (publisher of Rolling Stone and US Weekly) and a few of his friends, and the inductees are based on THEIR preferences instead of the public. This is why you have situations like Grandmaster Flash being inducted (which is preposterous to me) and great bands like Rush, Deep Purple, Yes, Iron Maiden, and countless others being left out just because Wenner and his buddies have a grudge against entire genres of rock music. Apparently, selling millions of records and selling out shows for decades has nothing to do with "fame" in their eyes.

15. Sounds a whole hell of a lot like the recording industry

There are soooo many talented people who go unnoticed for their talents. That is why I LOVE the internet tubes, and why I used to love NPR before they went to total news. Found a lot of very talented artists from NPR.

Happy Rhodes is a great artists, writes her own songs, plays guitar and keybroads, and records everything herself.
She has never had any offers for a contract. Yet someone like Brittany Spears gets recording contracts and it has more to do with selling her sexed up image than the music. Does she even write her own songs???

I have found so many great bands who would never have been discovered by the record industry. And the people they choose to promote are usually not very talented at all.

Just like the Grammy's. A very selected group gets to carry home the little trophy, which most of them don't really deserve, IMHO.

I don't have a beef with Madonna. She has done some interesting songs. I don't own any of her music, but have been impressed with a few of her songs. Some not so much.

Maybe Jann Wenner should let the people who buy and support the artists vote on who the inductees will be, instead of him.

Since it's the fans who put the artists where they are, they should have a lot more say than the pubisher of a magazine that's about 30 years past its prime.
