I have sad news to share with all my DU friends.

My sister-in-law lost her six month battle with cancer Monday night. She had been on life support for weeks, unable to breath without the ventilator. Monday night the family and doctors agreed to remove the life support, per her wishes.
My husband and I were with her to the end. The staff of nurses and the chaplain were all wonderful, supportive and compassionate.
We will miss her, but are grateful her suffering is over and I believe she is in a much better place.
Thank you to everyone for their support over the last six months.

Your sister-in-law and way too many others are the reason we still need to have fund raisers like the Relay for Life I just participated in over the weekend. I walked five miles for those who couldn't and did it proudly yet sadly.

One of my best girlfriends just lost her mom after a long battle, and my brother-in-law lost his beloved father this past spring. Cancer is the shit that's eating away some of our best and brightest and is something I still hope to see us beat in my lifetime.
