I just got a used Subaru Outback and I've got a few questions
Yes, it actually still has the original manual and I've RTFM'd.

  1. How warm is the seat warmer supposed to get? I'm not feeling anything.

  2. What speed does the cruise control work at? The TFM says 40 km/h but when I push the big button, pull down the lever and come off the gas, no lights go on (TFM says there's supposed to be one) and the car doesn't take over.

  3. TFM says you can lock it by turning the key to the right, but no way no hell is it turning. Bug or misprint?

  4. I want to put a new radio in it. Where are the screws to get the old one out?

1. ...
1. it should feel like you're "going" in your pants, and happen almost that quickly
2. 35 mph is generally what a cruise control is set at
3. bug...try some wd40, graphite, etc
4. dunno

5. how many miles does it have on it?
I don't know if you read my post from your original post about this car--but, I can recap some of the known problems.

We don't have seat warmers in ours, and only use cruise at 55mph- and up--so, I don't know when it goes off or on.

We had a radio/CD installed--no clue where the screws are.

The original owner was obsessive about keeping the thing maintained. He kept every piece of paper AND a logbook. Everything you mentioned has been done and more.

The dude had the engine compartment detailed :scared:.

4. I've got an older Legacy
'93, to be exact...so no heated seats.

I am able to lock all doors with a right-turned key in the driver side, left-turn to unlock all. Passenger door is just a single-locker, and for some reason operates in the opp directions (L to lock it, R to unlock.)

Sorry, can't help ya with the rest, but did get a nice chuckle deciphering "TFM."

I just got my Sube (Mom gave it to me this summer) so don't know allll about it, but I like it a lot. Hope you enjoy yours.

:hi:

7. I have one....
1. no seat warmer in mine.
2. always use cruise on the highway so I have no clue when it goes on/off
3. the key thing is correct, but I always use the lock button in the car because it is stiff with the key.
4. it came with CD player so I have no clue

BUT, I have 170k miles on my car.... and it runs great.
