geez, I think my cat must really be sick
he just threw up on the floor.

He NEVER throws up on the floor. He finds the only scrap of rug in the house, or he throws up on the mantle, behind the candles, or behind the TV on all the wires, or on the dog's bed, or on the dining room table.

But he NEVER yaks in a place where it's easy to clean up.

1. My dear MonkeyFunk...
Well, I'm sorry to hear your cat might be sick!

I hope he gets over whatever it is very quickly...

Maybe he's getting more considerate as he matures?

2. he's not really sick
he yaks every other day. He scarfs his food down so fast, then plays Easter Bunny by hiding his yaks around the house.

And if he were REALLY considerate, he'd stop leaping from the mantle onto my nuts.

3. Mine do it during the night, in a place where I'll be sure to step in it
as I'm hurrying downstairs, sans glasses, to put the beagle out next morning. And then they go off in another room and laugh themselves silly.

Don't let the small brains fool ya.

4. I've only got one barfer
out of the three. He HAS left a few out on the front patio where I go to smoke - right by the door, so I step in them first them in the morning.

And my dog went through a phase of shitting right in front of the tortoise pen, where I wander out in a fog and feed him. But now he thinks pooping on top of the hot tub cover is more fun.

5. Two of my three are barfers. One more than the other.
The beagle is well house-trained, except she thinks it's okay to relieve herself--in either kind--on the basement floor. Apparently because it's cement and she associates cement with being outside. I guess. She's never fully explained it to me. Anyway, it's not a huge problem until the basement floods suddenly, as can happen this near the river. Then I have to fish out the floating poop.

They're a joy, aren't they?

7. Mine like to do that when they are not getting enough
attention.

Today I was working on a report with a deadline. I had to to it today, in case I ran into some problems with it. I shooed them both away. Sure enough, I found barf later. They both did it.

Over the holidays, I was watching a DVD with my grown kids. We were being nice to them and petting them, but it was not enough. Everyone was engrossed in something that was not THEM. Later, I found barf on the basement stairs.

6. your cat sounds just like mine
I have all hardwood floors but she will throw up on the bathroom rug or the rug in the entry. Also, like yours, in other fun places like on wires or on the bed. The worst was when she puked on my keyboard. I loved that keyboard and couldn't find one just like it. Still pisses me off. :grr:

8. our hack up hairballs
whenever smirk-boy is on tv..

it's how we rate the speeches... having 5 cats, we count the hacked hairballs.. the more hairballs the worse the rating..

the dogs just leave the room

9. Our goddamn cat threw up 3" from S.O.'s head
Had to get both out of the bed, strip the bottom sheet, remake the bed, and put them both back in it (before getting in the shower for work). We were at the gym last night and S.O. showed me his brand new white sneakers, which he hadn't noticed were covered with cat puke, which did make me feel at least a little better about having to strip the bed.

If she EVER threw up on the tile in the kitchen, I'd KNOW she was sick.
