1. .
"The Pet Goat" is the story of a girl's pet goat which eats everything in its path.
The girl's parents want to get rid of the goat, but she defends it.
In the end, the goat becomes a hero when it butts a car robber into submission.
A sample passage:

"A girl got a pet goat. She liked to go running with her pet goat.
She played with her goat in her house. She played with her goat in her yard.
But the goat did some things that made the girl's dad mad. The goat ate things.
He ate cans and he ate canes.
He ate pans and he ate panes.
He even ate capes and caps."

3. *music* "He can turn a can into a cane. He can turn a pan into a pane.
It's as easy as can be with Silent E."

Which came first? "The Pet Goat" or "The Electric Company"? B-)

4. It is entirely analogous to the Bush Prezzydency :
"The Pet Goat" is the story of a girl's pet goat which eats everything in its path.
The girl's parents want to get rid of the goat, but she defends it.
In the end, the goat becomes a hero when it butts a car robber into submission.

The goat ruins everything, destroys their property -- indeed, their way of life -- but he "pertects" them from a creepy naughty guy so all the loss and damage is worthwhile, after all. Right.

8. Hmmm...sorta like the story about What's-his-name, the Farting Dog.
Nice, friendly, affectionate, well-behaved dog, kids loved him, but he had nastybad, terrible, continuous, toxic FARTS.:yoiks:

Adults in family decided to give him away. Lo and behold, on his last night with the family, some burglars broke in, and the dog...well...gassed them, saving the family.
They decided to keep him, flatulence and all.

10. Once you pick it up,you can't put it down.
War could break out,and you'd still have to finish that second page.
