1goblue bling
Last night at the Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan that I attended with MrsG and kids, Vance Wilson let me try THIS on:

The smear in the middle is the old English D in diamonds, the blue is sapphire, and the rest of the gleam is either diamonds or platinum. It weighed a ton. Wow.

This is a great area to live in for sports lately.... Sox, Pats, Celtics. We're enjoying ourselves. Too bad the Bruins can't get their act together.

The ring I tried on was monstrous (2005). It even covered the knuckle.

14. My boss is the former Chief of Operations for the New England Patriots
He left before 2005, but he went to school w/ the Kraft boys so I guess he's still in their good graces.

10. That's awesome
I'm jealous. I bet Tiger Fest was great this year considering all the excitment about the new players (as well as the old one who are pretty good themselves).

12. I saw World Series rings on Dave Henderson once
A friend and I were out in Seattle after a Mariners' playoff game. He was just standing there by himself while people were gathered around some current players (note to Mariners: maybe if your pitchers didn't go to bars after playoff games you'd win a round), and he reminded me of someone in looks (I was thinking of Curt Warner, not the QB but a former Seahawk) and he seemed determined to think that I must mean Charlie Pride. We had a very hilarious conversation, and finally he brushed his hand in front of the split in his teeth and said, "you mean because of this, right?" I said, "well it can't be Sandra Bernhard" and he said, "no, not that skinny bitch", "it's not David Letterman", "no, not that old white guy!" and he kept saying "Charlie Pride", but then my attention was caught by his rings, and then I asked, "who are you, anyway?" When I found out it was Dave Henderson, I felt kind of silly, since I'm not a celebrity stalker, and I excused myself and went back to my friend, but it was so hilarious. I've re-enacted the whole scene several times. BTW, the rings were astounding, but I didn't try one on, and plus, since I am a TIGERS fan, it couldn't possibly be as gorgeous as any Tigers ring would be.

15. I once tried on Rob Dibble's 1990 world series ring
he was a killer relief pitcher with the Nasty Boys of the Cincinnati Reds. We (my now ex-idiot boyfriend and myself) were at the bar and a bunch of players were there including Rob. He let me try on his ring. I could have stuffed about 3 fingers into that bad boy!
