8. shucks:)
looks like the liberal arts degree (history) pays off sometimes, even though I have had 7 jobs in the 2 yrs since I graduated, none of which have anything to do with history:) Although can't really complain, have a good one now even in the doldrums of the shrub economy.

JAIL TO THE THIEF!

11. Philly born Berkeley free speech dude...
said something about the system becoming so "odious" that you need to throw your self on gears of the machine to screw it up. I always thought that Rage against the machine got their name from him......

12. Mario Savio's speech before the FSM sit-in
http://www.fsm-a.org/stacks/mario/mario_speech.html

<edit>

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!

more...
