Have you ever been fascinated by names?
I'm copying names and addresses over from paypal so I can send thank you cards. It's taking quite a long time, but that's okay because I've been totally fascinated by a lot of the names.

Do you realize how awesome a lot of your names are? And how cool a lot of your town names are? :)

In a few cases I can tell (or figure out) which DU name goes with which real name and address. But in most cases I have no idea who these names belong to. It's kind of surreal to look at a name and address and think "This might be someone I talk to almost every day, and I have no idea who this person is."

Wow! :hi:

This is my fun project for the weekend. I hope you're having fun too! :grouphug:

2. Interesting. I wonder,
what makes a name auspicious or not?

an examination of people throughout history with certain names (what they acheived...or perpetrated).

4. What does yours mean?
Mine means "crowned one", and it'd be the same if I were a guy. It's Stephanie.

6. Thomas Charles
apparently means "The twin, free male."

I am a twin (and male). I don't know how free I am.

15. Well, I would... but then I'd probably have to charge too
so we'd just end up breaking even. :P

I love reading name books, even though I don't have kids and won't be any time soon. I also like finding new ones in family trees (Weird I know) :hi:

7. I love browsing name books when I'm writing
or preparing for a role-playing game and need to create some characters. :)

8. Oddly enough,
my name means "advisor." Also appropriate because I seem to like to tell people what to do!

Glad you're having fun with this whole process! :hi:

10. Yeah, people see my name and expect me to have some brand of UK accent. :P
My first and middle names are both of welsh origin, but used mostly in britain now. And I've got an irish last name. And yet, as far as I know, I don't have any UK ancestry. :)

11. So what kind of cool accent do you have?
:)

I sound very much like I'm from upstate New York. :P

12. Well, I grew up in upstate NY
then lived in central FL for a while... which is populated by just as many ex NYers as actual Floridians. :P So basically I've got almost no accent, but I'll occasionally say the word 'Y'all' or speak with a tiny touch of a drawl without meaning too.
