How does my teevee know I'm not watching?
When I'm reading DU with the teevee on, at some point, it goes to the screen saver.

When I'm watching, it never does?

What the hell is going on here? :tinfoilhat:

2. The people watching you through your TV know.
They then send signals through your toaster to convince you to return to viewing quality programming.

10. I've never watched four MASH reruns in a row
and gotten the screen saver. It's just a little strange.

8. If I sit here long enough, the screen goes black but for
the DirecTv logo that bounces around.

That never happens when I'm sitting on the couch watching.

How does Big Brother KNOW where I'm sitting?

14. You wanna logical answer?
If I had to guess — and, as it happens, I do — I'd say the screen saver kicks in when you haven't hit a button on the remote for a half-hour or whatever. When you're actively watching, you probably change channels or adjust the volume more often than that.

But that answer's no fun, so I hate it. x(

12. Never give it away.

No, but it's just weird. How does this sort of low tech teevee know I'm not watching?

I may just have to shoot it.

Radiohead - 2+2=5

Are you such a dreamer
To put the world to rights?
I'll stay home forever
Where two and two always makes a five

I'll lay down the tracks
Sandbag and hide
January has April's showers
And two and two always makes a five

It's the devil's way now
There is no way out
You can SCREAM and you can shout
It is too late now

Because...
You have not been!

Payin' attention
Payin' attention
Payin' attention
Payin' attention
You have not been paying attention

Payin' attention
Payin' attention
Payin' attention
You have not been paying attention

Payin' attention
Payin' attention
Payin' attention
You have not been paying attention

Payin' attention
Payin' attention
Payin' attention oohh

I try to sing along
But I get it all wrong
Cozimnot
Cozimnot

I swat 'em like flies but like flies the buggers keep coming back NOT
But I’m not

All hail to the thief
All hail to the thief

But I'm not
But I'm not
But I'm not
But I'm not

Don't question my authority or put me in the box
Cozimnot
Cozimnot

Oh go and tell the king that the sky is falling in

When it's not
But it's not
But it's not
Maybe not
Maybe not
