1. I'd be happy with just staying out here on the farm and not having work issues.
It's spring, time to plow and plant. Starting in the AM!!!

That looks lovely...

I'm not sure where I'd go...

A big city where I didn't know anyone, most likely...

33. Hello dear CaPeg!
Reporting that I survived two days without internet and entered into a world that truly belonged to animals other than humans. It was truly magical and I wish I could have stayed longer.

We got stranded on the way back (no wind, out of fuel) and sat in the middle of the ocean silently for about 6 hours. The animals and birds came to check us out.

Few people get the opportunity to be the "other" in nature. And it was wonderful.

Hope you are well.

Your trip sounds wonderful...

Glad you're back, safe and sound, though...

We all need to escape from a world with humans now and then...

I am well, thank you...

6. I actually did move to the SW and found me.
;)

I've been dreaming about going back.

I felt so free and uninhibited there, when I lived there.

People seem so uptight around where I am now. :(

7. I would go to a decent-sized older city
that I could get around in fairly easily on public transport and live in fairly cheap. Bonus points if they speak English, but it wouldn't be totally necessary. The weather would have to be temperate (50s every day) and there would have to be a decent selection of cafes and/or restaurants, since I don't cook.

I'd spend most of my time exploring and researching local history. Extra extra bonus points if they have lenient busking laws, because I could always play a song or two if I needed to make some cash.

Wow, that sounds really tempting right now.... I've got enough in savings to live comfortably for a year if I need to. If I didn't need my health insurance so bad, I'd hit the road right now...

22. maybe someday
by then i will be older

but maybe

past sucks

my son told me his dream... to become a janitor.

told him that is an honorable profession, hard work, not a lot of pay, if that's what he wants to do though, then more power to him.

He showed me his mopping skillz

grabbed a mop in the grocery store and started mopping.

Impressive style he has

told him he might need to put it up though as the store managers might not like him getting the mop head dirty

25. I could possibly find a job (travel related) but my husband has not been able to..
even though he is a triple-degreed Engineer. The jobs just aren't there. And my salary would not support the two of us. We would each end up working 3 jobs just to survive. We really don't think it would be a very good quality of life... though I am still tempted every winter!

31. Stonehenge
where the demons dwell
where the banshees live, and they do live well... :P

Seriously, though, I would like to go back there. Maybe not for a week, a month, or a year...but certainly it would be nice to be able to escape for a couple of hours at least every now and then. There is an odd sort of peace among those stones, and in my mind I go there most often when I am stressed. :hi:

36. It's my plan to disappear
or to at least very nearly disappear once my kids are all raised. The oldest will graduate HS in 2009. The youngest will graduate in 2019 (God willing). Soon after he graduates whatever house I'm living in will go up for sale and everything that doesn't have some sentimental value to me will also be sold. Whatever is left goes into the car and I'll drive off to parts unknown. I'll leave my high stress job behind and do something that is more sane.

The ideal would be to find a small cabin on a small piece of land. Have a garden, maybe some chickens (for eggs), and to spend the day quietly with books, writing, and my thoughts. When the weather gets too cold, I'll escape to the beach and sun my buns for a month or two. I'll work odd jobs to pay bills until I decide to "retire."

Eleven more years -- give or take a few. I'll be able to start living life for myself. It's not a complaint, but I've been living all these years for all the other people in my life. Disappointments and hurts notwithstanding, I've been happy to do it. My life is fuller for the experiences. Still, I'm looking forward to the days when it can be more about me.

:)
