GOD I love my momma ... can't post this in GD-Puke
I won't post in that trash pile because it's a vile place. And I'm not in the mood to tell a bunch of mother fuckers off.

Anywho. Never in my life have I seen my mom so emotional when it comes to politics. My mom like me is a HUGE Hillary supporter.

We talk everyday (my mom, not Hillary .... that's only once a week, but I digress) ... I've had so many phone calls over the last months about this election. The night I saw her, I had to call her (as I did for the Streisand concert). The night of the NH primary was on the phone every 5 minutes. We both cried and cheered when she won.

Today when I called mom for our basic talk shit session, she told me she was watching CNN and Hillary was on. Mom said, "I just get chills when I see her. I want to just talk to her and tell her how MUCH I support her and want her to win." Of course that got me all teary and shit.

This election is probably going to rip my heart out.

1. No, DON'T let an election "rip your heart out." It's just a damn election, and you have
a mother who's still alive, and are close to.

THAT'S what is important. Not elections.

2. Awwww, I love this!
Very cool. I'm getting all teary just wishing I could argue about the election with my mother. We did that in '04 and I'm missing it. Enjoy!!!!

4. A word of advice from somebody who's been there:
Try not to get too emotionally attached to any candidate -- sooner or later you will be horribly disappointed and disheartened if you do. Of course it's important, but it's politics, and it's a blood sport, and the only way to avoid getting your heart ripped out by the process (since at some point you will back someone who loses) is to be as cold-hearted, analytical and pragmatic as possible. Never fall in love with a politician...

5. Hillary is very fortunate to have your mother's support
And very fortunate to have your support.

What a nice story. Thank you for bringing it in here.

6. I wish my mom would have came down to LA for the rally.
I KNOW that she would have gotten in to see her up and close.

7. I envy you
Fairly certain my mother will be voting for McCain. And that hurts my heart.

Should Obama win the nom, I hope your Mom will still enjoy seeing Hillary grow and lead as a US Senator, perhaps majority leader.

8. I gotta work on her.
She's SO upset that Hillary might lose the nomination she might sit it out or vote for Nadar.

But my step-dad knows we need a democrat and they will end up voting for Obama if it comes to that.

9. You love your momma. :)
My Mom and I have been having some really interesting political conversations as well.
It's interesting hearing my Mom's viewpoints and opinions about Hillary (they mirror my own, but then again we are alike in a lot of ways)

I don't know what to say to you and your Mom. I hope this political season doesn't rip your heart out. :(

Thank you for turning the Lounge into a trash pile with your trash talk. Maybe you should take your vicious attitude back to GDP.

I'm sorry if your nerves are shot from fighting in GDP, but there was no excuse for the way you responded to my post — which was made in jest.

as well as Bill and Chelsea. She was proud to live to see an intelligent, hard working First Lady in the latter part of the 20th century (as she had with Mrs. Roosevelt).
Hugs to both you and your Momma Ronny

15. Senator Clinton is a smart, hard-working, dynamic woman, ronny.
Under an Obama administration, she'll probably be one of the best Attorneys General ever.

18. Or vice-versa
I just spent several hours making phone calls for Obama, but I still respect Senator Clinton, and let the Hillary supporters I reached know that. We're all going to have to work together come November, whatever the outcome, and I didn't want to alienate potential allies. I stay out of GD-P these days because the hostility is so thick on both sides of the aisle it makes makes me ill to watch.

So despite our differences, I'm glad Ronny's mom is still active and engaged in politics. Too many have given up on the process.

17. What a great post! Cheers and hugs for your mother.

I've often wondered just what words my ladylike mother would have used for
ol' GWB. "Sorry SOB" was her favorite.
