3. you have my deepest sympathies....

I have a stack of exams on the kitchen table I'm actively ignoring. And I'll get a stack of working drafts of an ecology paper tomorrow. Remember that pic I posted a while ago of how I spent last year's trip to the Saline Valley? I swore I'd never do that again. Now I'm planning to do exactly the same thing-- bring the whole stack of grading with me.

Hell, if I didn't bring the grading, I might have FUN. Shudder.

7. I try to do most of my own grading...

...although I do ask the TAs to help about half the time. It's the old story-- I hate to ask someone else to do a job that I hate to do because I know they'll hate it too, LOL.

The Saline Valley trip is a combined insect collecting trip and pleasure trip. I'm collecting for the teaching collection at HSU, but it's also an excuse to spend a week camped in the warm socal desert with friends in mid-March. No particular field project associated with that trip other than the general purpose collecting.

Unless you count field testing tequila....
