Has anyone bought concert tickets off of ebay?
Ok...I'm trying to get tickets for the True Colors show that will be here in Chicago 06/10. The tickets available at Ticketmaster are more than what I wanted to pay for. However, someone on ebay is offering a pair of tickets that aren't too expensive.

Have you had any experience buying tickets for concerts, shows, etc off of ebay? Good experiences? Bad?

Thanks.

2. That's...not what I asked.
And I see this was a mistake to ask this question here.

4. I bought Rose Bowl game and parade tickets off of ebay
a few years ago. This wasn't the national championship game but the year before when Texas played Michigan. I won a pair of tickets but I noticed that one of the other bidders had a name very similar to the seller. When I checked further, I found that all of the other bidders had been bidding on each other's sales of small items. I confronted the seller and he admitted that he had created other IDs in order to boost his recs. The bidding didn't affect my price but I didn't trust him so we agreed to cancel the sale. He relisted the tickets and I watched the sale and it looked like the bidding was legit so I didn't report him.

I didn't have any trouble with the second set of game tickets (though I paid a little more) or the parade tickets. We had a great time! :)

5. No, it seems kinda risky from a scam aspect.
especially since there are middle-man services for buying and selling tickets to nearly anything. (i.e. Stubhub) If I were buying tickets on ebay, I'd postdate the check to the day after the concert just in case the tickets never arrive or turn out to be fake. (That happens alot. Scalpers selling counterfeit tickets.)

Sorry that's all the help I can give.

check the seller's feedback. If they are high 90's to 100, you should be fine. Especially power sellers, they wouldn't ruin their rep. to sell fake tickets or scam anyone. Try for someone who has been there a few years with high positive feedback.
