but after something you posted a few nights ago, I clicked on your profile, and then your blog link.

In a nutshell, I laid in bed, staring at the ceiling for a long time after reading your blog. I didn't know anything about you until I read it. And it shook me to my very core.

You and I are relatively the same age (I just turned 39) - and my heart hurts for you.

If I could think of one thing to say to you, it would be this: in a world where so many people have never experienced true love, you and your beloved were two people who managed to find it and relish in every second of it. People look at you and wish they could have had that kind of love, if only for a day.

As ill-timed as its ending was, I hope that one day you will notice that the grief is starting to subside, even if just a little bit; that when you hear a certain song, instead of shedding tears, you will smile and remember; that when you look at pictures, the memories of that time will fill your head and heart with the love you shared; and when you look at your son, you are looking at an extension of the amazing man who helped mold him into who he has become.

He's still with you, my friend....in your heart, in your memories, and through your son.

My heart hurts for you. I think about you a lot, and I wish I could do something to help you. We used to talk a bit back in the day, but not so much any more. But I still haven't forgotten what a wonderful person you are. I hope you know that I am here if you ever need a laugh, to talk about something normal, or if you need someone to just listen. I read your blog at least once a week, and every single time I do, I wish I could give you a hug and take the hurt away.
