Is anyone else ridiculously excited for Iron Man?

Between Spiderman 3 and Fantastic Four 2, I feel like last year's super hero movies were pretty sub-par. So I'm glad that it finally looks like there's going to be a good one.

I think part of the reason this movie looks so amazing is how incredibly relevant it is. Stan Lee originally wrote the story where Tony Stark gets captured in Vietnam then proceeded to update that as America keeps finding itself in new wars. I have a feeling he knew that the military industrial complex wasn't going anywhere anytime soon when he first wrote the story.

1. That and The Dark Knight...

are the only two movies I'm looking forward to this year.

And I have to wait until mid-July for The Dark Knight.

I have always been a HUGE Iron Man fan, so I'm excited - but there's so much potential for doing a really shitty job on it.

So I'm not getting my hopes up at all. I'd rather be surprised then have my hopes crushed. :7

I saw the first trailer some time back and I was completely blown away. I think casting Robert Downey as Tony Stark was inspired, and I can't wait to see it, especially since it doesn't look like they watered down the story.
