My cats are so funny

I was watching TV and forgot it was time for kitty dinners until one of them jumped up and looked pleadingly at me. I didn't see her sister anywhere though. I said, "Hungry?" as soon as I said that the other kitty appeared and jumped up next to me. Then I said "who wants dinner?" They both went "MEOW!" at the same time (kitty stereo!) and went running for the food dish.
So my cats know the words, food,dinner, hungry,eat..and probably other food related terms that I don't know about.
So anybody else have pets who know multiple food terms?:)

1. My late kitty, Benzoid, would eat his food and then steal

the food from the other 2 cats. He was nothing but a 4 legged food processor. He was a pig but never got fat. He knew his food words.

You do realize you are nothing but a tool bag for your kitties don't you? You are trained up to say "who wants dinner?" and they probably snicker behnd your back when your not looking.

2. That is lovable. Cat stereo.

Yes, my cat knows words; she comes running when I call her name. She adores sweet talk especially when it is accompanied by grooming. She also prefers dry food to wet, so requests for food? They only come when I am eating something she wants.

3. oh, absolutely...

quite innocently i started asking my two kitties the same two questions before each feeding (i feed them at the same appointed hour each day, so they gather where ever i am at that time.)

"are you hungry?"
"shall we feed the kitties?"

they absolutely learned to know what these words mean and run to their respective bowls upon hearing them.

the female will only eat what she needs, the male would eat the whole bag if i let him. i feed them in separate rooms so i give the female too much and the male too little. when she is finished i let him eat what remains of hers. it all works out.

i think i should start working on "sit" and "stay" next...

4. now get this, turtlensue

if I put food in a bowl for my kitties Clancy and Riff Raff, Clancy starts eating, then RR puts his paw in the bowl and pulls so he can eat. The bowl migrates completely around the room. If I put TWO bowls down, RR always goes to the one Clancy is munching from. Poor Clancy cannot win. :o

5. I clap my hands when it is time to feed them. Both of my cats know what

that means and go running into the kitchen before I can move.

6. "Treats," "Who wants some of those things? ", "What do you want?"

and "Let's get some of those things!" Even little Sunny has learned and does his cute little "Mrrrrrrr!" and goes running for the kitchen along with the other boyzos.

7. Mine have keen food-sound skills

We have saucers that they eat from. We don't eat out of them. Only the cats do.

When those saucers come out of the cabinet, they come a runnin'. That's no surprise. What I don't understand is that they don't come running when we put the clean dishes into the cabinet. To me the saucers sound the same when we put them away as they do when we take them down. But the cats know the difference, and don't even raise an ear when their saucers are being put in the cabinet.
