11. I got a great birthday card from a friend some years back, which had a picture
of an old, VERY wrinkled fart with no teeth on the cover. Inside it said, "If I had known I was going to live this long, I might have taken better care of myself."

I think I'll have them put that on my gravestone.

13. It's true, ain't it?
I was convinced I would die by the time I hit 30. I fucked myself over good on that one.

14. Hey, I was supposed to have died when I was 14, 19, and 24. But I confounded
the experts each time, especially the last one when I pulled into the parking lot of the hospital in my MGB, with a gut full of blood from a burst aneurism.

Some experts, yes?

12. The fact that they use BMI in there
means that it is going to be way off for me. :P Because according to BMI, I'm obese. Which is odd, because I'm pretty goddamn spry and pretty thin for somebody who's 'obese'.

Hell, with the amount of muscle mass he has, it would probably label flvegan as being obese too. Because all it checks is weight and height. It doesn't check width of shoulders/torso/ect or percentage of muscle mass.

That being said, I got Sunday, August 17, 2053

17. I had a friend a few years back who was kicked out of the Army for being obese.
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 06:04 PM by Kutjara
He didn't have a scrap of fat on him, was covered in muscle, could run like the wind, and benchpress a small bus, but the bureaucrats said that his weight/height ratio was outside of the "permissible" range, so he was given a couple of warnings and then kicked out. Meanwhile, the base was overrun with fatties who could barely wheeze around the "2 miles in 17 minutes" "fitness" test, just scraped in under the BMI limit, and were declared fit for combat.

26. Yeah, that heigh/weight ratio is pretty stupid.
I had an ex who tried to get in and she was told she was too fat. In her case, most of the weight was in her boobs and legs. Because she was naturally rather well endowed, and she'd spent years rollerblading, biking or walking everywhere she went so she had rather large, strong legs.

The ironic thing there as that she's now stopped rollerblading, biking and walking everywhere and she actually IS fat now. :P

If I could bump that up to about 2058, I think I'd be okay. 65 is just a bit young for my liking... 75 is much better!

With all of my other information being the same, it added fifteen years to my life when I changed my outlook from "pessimistic" to normal. I just don't see being pessimistic causing me to live to only be 59 y/o. There's a lot of old grouches in my family still hanging in there in their eighties!
